Our Adopt-A-Neighbor program is the giving side of our services.

Since 2019, this program allows neighbors to help neighbors who are in need of items & supports that we believe are key components in empowering women to rebuild, rediscover, and bloom into their full potential. This program supports women rise from adversity into lives of strength, purpose and wellness by providing the Basic Need Items that are the building blocks to better Education, Employment, Vocational, Housing and Transportation logistics in their lives.
Some Basic Need Items cover day-to-day items such as clothing, shoes, linens, hygiene items, baby items, while some Basic Need Items are a more specific to families such as household items.

Adopt-A-Neighbor: Basic Necessity Item Assistance – ACTIVE

Our clients are everyday women who have specific needs as they transition and grow in their lives.The Adopt-A-Neighbor program fulfills specific Basic Necessity Items such as clothing, linens, hygiene items, baby items, cleaning supplies, household items. Donations are needed year-round. In the winter, we select an agency to sponsor and we host a supply drive for the people they serve. Outside of the winter months, we are using these donations to directly impact the Women/families we serve.

 

Adopt-A-Peer: Transportation & Housing Assistance – ACTIVE

Our Adopt-A-Peer program focuses on providing Housing and Transportation assistance.Safety is always our number one priority. Housing assistance could come in the form of Household Cleaning/Supplies, Monetarily for bills, Application Assistance and/or Loan Coaching/Credit Repair.Transportation is key for our Clients to get to/from work, trainings, grocery store, doctor, day care and more. Transportation assistance could come in the form of Bus Passes, Lyft/Uber Gift Cards and/or Monetarily for small vehicle repairs/maintenance.

 

Adopt-A-Supply-List: Education, Employment and Vocational Assistance – ACTIVE

Our Adopt-A-Supply-List focuses on providing Education, Employment, Vocational assistance. Knowledge is power! Education assistance could come in the form of receiving necessary supplies, application assistance (GED/College), Internship opportunities and/or scholarships. Employment assistance could look like support for obtaining an ID, job search and application assistance, resume building, internship prep/coaching, stipends for work clothing/equipment and/or financial literacy education. Vocational assistance looks different for everyone! This typically comes in the form of growing in a specific field. After a variety of information is reviewed, we determine with the Client what skills they’re interesting in building.

Adopt-A-Wishlist: December Wishlist – Upcoming

We believe that children should have joyous holidays with loved ones, but sometimes the holidays aren’t great for everyone. The Adopt-A-Wishlist program is a seasonal program where we choose another nonprofit that serves youth, and community members can ensure youth receive age-appropriate, fun and educational gifts during the holidays.
In 2020, we served 6 families with 18 children.
In 2021, we served 14 families with 30 children.
In 2022, we served 20 families with 45 children.
In 2023, we served 21 families with 52 children.
We did not run this program in 2024.
For 2025, we are still finalizing our Partnership and will update you soon!

 

Adopt-A-Family: Family Meals – ACTIVE

Adopt-A-Family is a seasonal program we facilitate annually in November. We partner with H-E-B to provide meals during the fourth week of November, for Thanksgiving. Each year the number of families we’re able to serve changes.
In 2019, we fed 4 families.
In 2020, we fed 19 families.
In 2021, we fed 20 families.
In 2022, we fed 22 families.
In 2023, we fed 25 families.
We did not run this program in 2024.
We require that families are nominated to be eligible for a free meal.
This year, we are looking to serve 10 families.
