This program supports women to rise from adversity into lives of strength, purpose, and wellness by providing the Basic Need Items that are the building blocks to better Education, Employment, Vocational, Housing, and Transportation logistics in their lives.<br \/>\nSome Basic Need Items cover day-to-day items such as clothing, shoes, linens, hygiene items, and baby items, while some Basic Need Items are more specific to families, such as household items.\n<p>Learn more about our five Adopt-A-Neighbor programs and get involved in meaningful opportunities for the community to give to the community today!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t<h3>Adopt-A-Neighbor: Ongoing Support<\/h3>\n\t\t<p>This is our main initiative. Our clients are everyday women who have specific needs as they transition and grow in their lives. The Adopt-A-Neighbor program fulfills specific Basic Necessity Items such as clothing, linens, hygiene items, baby items, cleaning supplies, and household items. Donations are needed year-round. In the winter, we select an agency to sponsor, and we host a supply drive for the people they serve. Outside of the winter months, we are using these donations to directly impact the Women\/families we serve.<\/p>\n<p>This winter 2025, we&#8217;re extending this initiative and hosting a supply drive for the Basin Dream Center. <a href=\"https:\/\/mysecondbloom.org\/es\/bdc\/\">Read more about the Basin Dream Center Supply Drive details here.<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/mysecondbloom.org\/es\/bdc\/\" target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tFuel BDC Supply Drive\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t<h3>Adopt-A-Peer: Transportation &#038; Housing Assistance<\/h3>\n\t\t<p>Our Adopt-A-Peer program focuses on providing Housing and Transportation assistance. Safety is always our number one priority. Housing assistance could come in the form of Household Cleaning\/Supplies, Monetarily for bills, Application Assistance and\/or Loan Coaching\/Credit Repair. Transportation is key for our Clients to get to\/from work, trainings, grocery store, doctor, day care and more. Transportation assistance could come in the form of Bus Passes, Lyft\/Uber Gift Cards and\/or monetary assistance for small vehicle repairs\/maintenance.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/mysecondbloom.org\/es\/adopt-a-neighbor\/\" target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSupport Peers\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t<h3>Adopt-A-Supply: Education, Employment and Vocational Assistance <\/h3>\n\t\t<p>Our Adopt-A-Supply-List focuses on providing Education, Employment, and Vocational assistance. Knowledge is power! Education assistance could come in the form of receiving necessary supplies, application assistance (GED\/College), Internship opportunities and\/or scholarships. Employment assistance could look like support for obtaining an ID, job search and application assistance, resume building, internship prep\/coaching, stipends for work clothing\/equipment and\/or financial literacy education. Vocational assistance looks different for everyone! This typically comes in the form of growing in a specific field. After a variety of information is reviewed, we determine with the Client what skills they&#8217;re interested in building.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/mysecondbloom.org\/es\/adopt-a-neighbor\/\" target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSupport Growth\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t<h3>Adopt-A-Family: Family Meals<\/h3>\n\t\tAdopt-A-Family is a seasonal program we facilitate annually in November. We partner with H-E-B to provide meals during the fourth week of November, for Thanksgiving. Each year, the number of families we&#8217;re able to serve changes. We require that families be nominated to be eligible for a free meal.<br \/>\nIn 2019, we fed 4 families.<br \/>\nIn 2020, we fed 19 families.<br \/>\nIn 2021, we fed 20 families.<br \/>\nIn 2022, we fed 22 families.<br \/>\nIn 2023, we fed 25 families.<br \/>\nWe did not run this program in 2024.<br \/>\nIn November 2025, we served 10 meals to 10 families with 28 children!\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/mysecondbloom.org\/es\/family\/\" target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\tSupport Families\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t<h3>Adopt-A-Wishlist: Holiday Wishlist<\/h3>\n\t\tWe believe that children should have joyous holidays in December with loved ones, but sometimes the holidays aren&#8217;t great for everyone. The Adopt-A-Wishlist program is our seasonal initiative where we choose another nonprofit to partner with, and community members can ensure youth in those programs receive age-appropriate, fun, and educational gifts during the holidays.<br \/>\nIn 2020, we served 6 families with 18 children.<br \/>\nIn 2021, we served 14 families with 30 children.<br \/>\nIn 2022, we served 20 families with 45 children.<br \/>\nIn 2023, we served 21 families with 52 children.<br \/>\nWe did not run this program in 2024.\n<p>For 2025, we are partnering with the Methodist Children&#8217;s Home GAP program.
