Megan Cardenas is the Executive Director, President, and Founder of Hub City Outreach Center and My Second Bloom. With an unwavering heart for service, Megan has dedicated her life to advancing mental health and wellness. She is living proof of resilience, determination, and the power of giving back—transforming her own life experiences into opportunities for others to heal and grow.

Megan earned her Associate of Science in Child Development from South Plains College before continuing her education at Lubbock Christian University, where she received both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Human Development & Family Studies with a specialization in Non-Profit Management. As a proud first-generation college graduate, Megan’s academic journey reflects her commitment to breaking barriers and creating pathways for others to succeed.

Her dedication to lifelong learning is evident through her certifications as a Community Health Worker and a Certified Associate Prevention Specialist. Beyond her education and credentials, Megan’s leadership has been recognized through numerous awards, including the Hispana Inspiradora Award from the Hispanic Association of Women (2018), Top 20 Under 40 from the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce (2020), and the Women of Excellence Award for Social Justice (2023). Most recently, in 2024, she was honored as Young Alumnus of the Year by Lubbock Christian University in recognition of her outstanding professional achievements under the age of 40.

Through her work, Megan continues to inspire change, empower communities, and build spaces where individuals and families can thrive.
